The final Walk2COP27 townhall. Join us, wherever you are, to hear reflections on both the 55 days of our mass participation initiative AND views on COP from youth representatives who are in Sharm El-Sheikh. You can expect heartfelt thanks, deep emotion, strong opinions, uncomfortable truths and challenge, and hope!
Sam Baker and Yasemin Somuncu will lead the reflections on the Walk2COP27 initiative. Sam will draw upon all 12 townhalls including last week’s collaborative session, Yasemin will talk about how this landed in Türkiye, one of our flagship countries, and what we learned.
Cathy Yitong Li, Nadia Paleari, Selma Bichbich, and Shamim Zawadi, all present at Sharm EL-Sheikh, will provide their own opinions on how COP has played out, and whether or not this changes anything. Both have extensive experience with national and international (youth) climate movements, the UN system and private sector careers.
We will invite contributions from the (virtual) floor and want to conclude with suggestions on what we should prioritise as we all think about our role in the war against climate change.
